Shabbir Ali flays KCR’s silence on loans, jobs to Muslim youth

KCR did not speak about implementation of the promised 12% reservation for Muslims, giving jobs and loans to minority youth during iftar

HYDERABAD: Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for not making any announcement about loans or jobs to minority youth during the iftar party hosted by the state government at LB Stadium on Friday night.

"KCR did not speak about the implementation of the promised 12 per cent reservation for Muslims, giving jobs and loans to minority youth, housing facility, release of fee reimbursement and scholarships for minority students or any other electoral promise made by him in the last eight years. Iftar time is a pious moment for Muslims and he used it to make false claims and instil fear among minorities," Shabbir Ali, the state Congress political affairs committee convener, said in a release on Saturday.

"He cheated Muslims with fake promises and false claims. Now he wants them to support the TRS out of fear of the BJP," he alleged. Shabbir Ali said the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation had received nearly 1.53 lakh loan applications, but none of those applications was approved so far
