CPM men not working for PC George: VN Vasavan
Kottayam: CPM district secretary V.N. Vasavan has denied the charge that a section of partymen led by him was working for the victory of Mr P.C. George, leader of Kerala Congress (S), in Poonjar. “The CPM is working for the victory of LDF candidate P.C. Joseph,” he told reporters while taking part in ‘Nilapadu – 2016’ at the press club here on Saturday.
“Mr Joseph is way ahead of George and UDF candidate Georgekutty Augusthy,” he said. In response to the charge that Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan, during his election meeting at Poonjar on Friday, spoke only a few words in support of Mr Joseph, he said that it was due to the restrictions imposed on him by the doctors on health grounds.
Mr Achuthanandan had concluded his speech quickly urging the people to vote for Mr Joseph in protest against Mr Oommen Chandy’s corrupt government who ruled the state by receiving ‘thutttu’ (money).
