Hyderabad: A rise in the price of stents was expected in the new notification issued by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority with the ministry of chemical and fertilisers increasing the price of bare metal stents to `8,261 and drug eluting stents to Rs 30,080.
The prices were due for revision after three years. The price of the bare metal stent previously was Rs 7,660 and drug eluting stent Rs 27,890. The manufacturers have been asked to revise the prices from April 2.
