Bengaluru: To counter Congress’ “separate Lingayat religion” strategy, the BJP has decided to consolidate Hindu votes by terming the state government “anti-Hindu”.
After attending a meeting chaired by BJP president Amith Shah here on Sunday, Union Minister Ananth Kumar said that the BJP will take its propaganda to the booth level through its Yuva Morcha. “While the government has not taken any action in cases related to murders of Hindu activists, it has withdrawn cases against PFI activists. Congress president Parameshwar is holding a meeting with SDPI for a poll alliance,” he said.
At the meeting with Shah, the state unit took four decisions to be completed in the next two months. Before Jan. 16, the party will prepare a chargesheet against Congress legislators in every Assembly constituency on the promises made and not fulfilled. Between Feb. 15 and 22, Yuva Morcha will conduct awareness programmes in all Assembly segments and reach the chargesheets to every household, he said. The Yuva Morcha has been given charge of registering at least 21 new names in every booth. On Shah's reaction to the state party unit's progress, Mr Kumar said that he was happy with the Parivarthana Yatra.
Delay cuts short meet: The visit of Amith Shah lost its steam, as he arrived in the city late because of heavy fog at the Delhi Airport. Instead of arriving at 10.30 am, he landed at 3.20 pm. Before he arrived, Karnataka in charge Prakash Javadekar and BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa held the legislators' meeting.
Javadekar wanted to know the progress of leaders, who were given charge of additional constituencies. Karadi Sanganna, Balachandra Jarakiholi, Suresh Angadi and M. Krishnappa were asked to explain why they did not visit the additional constituencies.
