Vijayawada: Police found Rs 2.25 crore kept secured in three bags in a car while carrying out checks of vehicles at Bollapalli toll plaza within the Martur police station limits of Bapatla district on Thursday evening.
A person named Srinivasa Reddy claimed he works as a clerk in a seeds company. The cash is the total amount received after he sold away maize seeds to buyers from Proddatur.
Police said they will be handing over the amount to income tax officials. However, they are trying to find more details about the source of the huge amount.
