PM Modi to Visit Odisha on June 20

Rairangpur rally, Temple visit on agenda

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on June 20 to participate in a major state government programme marking two years of the BJP-led dispensation in the state and address a public gathering in Mayurbhanj district.

According to the detailed itinerary finalised for the Prime Minister's one-day visit, Mr Modi is scheduled to arrive at the Pahadpur helipad in Mayurbhanj at 11.05 am. He will then proceed to Gosani Peeth, reaching the shrine at around 11.15 am, where he is expected to offer prayers.

The Prime Minister will spend nearly an hour in the Pahadpur area before leaving for Dandbose, where he is slated to attend the Odisha government's anniversary programme. He is expected to reach the venue at around 12.55 pm.

During the event, Mr Modi will join celebrations marking two years of the BJP government in Odisha and is likely to highlight the achievements of both the state and Union governments. The programme is scheduled to continue for about an hour, following which the Prime Minister will depart for his next engagement.

The visit assumes political significance as it comes at a time when the BJP is showcasing what it describes as the success of its “double-engine government” in Odisha. The Prime Minister's public address in Rairangpur is expected to draw a large gathering of party workers and supporters from across northern Odisha.

Security arrangements have been intensified in Mayurbhanj district, with state and central agencies coordinating preparations for the high-profile visit. Local authorities have also stepped up logistical arrangements to ensure smooth movement of the Prime Minister and participants attending the event.

Welcoming the Prime Minister's visit, Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal said party workers were enthusiastic about the occasion, which coincides with the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.

“There is a positive atmosphere and excitement among party workers over the Prime Minister's visit. A major event will be held in Rairangpur with large participation expected,” Mr Samal had said earlier.

Expressing confidence ahead of the forthcoming local body and panchayat elections, the BJP leader asserted that the party had delivered on its commitments and would continue to enjoy public support in the state.
