PM Modi to Address Civil Servants Today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation’s civil servants on April 21 at Vigyan Bhawan during the 17th Civil Services Day celebrations. He is set to confer the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration on districts and government departments for outstanding implementation of priority programmes and innovative initiatives.
Modi will also release two e-books — one on holistic development and another on innovation success stories — and preside over the screening of a film showcasing the award-winning projects before the ceremony. According to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, this marks his seventh address at the National Civil Services Day.
Observed in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 1947 address to IAS probationers at Metcalfe House, the day provides civil servants an opportunity to renew their commitment to public service and excellence. A day-long conference will precede the awards ceremony.
