PM Modi Releases Book On Landmark UPSC Judgments In New Delhi
PM Modi released a book by UPSC and NALSAR featuring 100 landmark judgments shaping public employment and public service commissions in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative book, “100 landmark judgements - shaping the policies of UPSC and public service commissions in India,” at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi as part of the centenary celebrations of the union public service commission (UPSC).
The book, a joint effort by the UPSC and the NALSAR University of Law, highlights 100 important judgments that have influenced public employment and the functioning of the UPSC and state public service commissions.
The cases highlight key constitutional principles, including equality, fairness and protection from arbitrary action. They draw on Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution and the provisions relating to public services under Part XIV.
The book was compiled by a dedicated research team at NALSAR, in coordination with designated UPSC officials. It is divided into thematic chapters, with each case note covering the facts, legal issues, decision and ratio of the judgment, along with relevant constitutional and legal provisions.
Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, vice-chancellor of NALSAR, said the collaboration reflected the university’s commitment to public institutions. “For NALSAR, this collaboration with the UPSC reflects our conviction that a university discharges its fullest purpose when rigorous scholarship is placed at the service of public institutions,” he said.
Prof. Rao also participated in a panel discussion on the significance of public service commissions as a constitutional body during the centenary celebrations.
