Rahul slams Modi for treating Adani differently
Thiruvananthapuram: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly showing preferential treatment towards Adani.
Addressing a public meeting to thank voters of Wayanad, Rahul said they are engaged in an ideological struggle that is about defending the constitution which mandates equal treatment for all. “Prime Minister Modi asserts that Adani will be treated differently than every other Indian,” he said.
“Modi claims it doesn't matter if Adani has been indicted in the US or called a criminal there; in India, we will not indict him,” stated Rahul.
The opposition leader stated that the Indian Constitution requires equal treatment for all individuals, regions, and states within India. Despite the calamity that has befallen Wayanad, the Prime Minister has declared that he will not extend the support they deserve. "This is the context in which we are functioning. It is the sentiment shared by you and millions of others that gives us confidence and security," he remarked.
"In the Lok Sabha, we are engaged in a battle of ideologies. We speak of feelings, emotions, affection, and love, while they speak of hate, anger, division, and violence. We believe in listening to people and acting with humility, whereas they behave arrogantly," he said.
“They have the entire government at their disposal, including the media, money, intelligence agencies, CBI, ED, income tax, and unlimited funds, while we have none of that. We only have the feelings of the people, which surprisingly win every single time.”
“I am confident we will defeat the ideology of the BJP,” Rahul asserted.
At the public meeting Rahul said;`` as Priyanka's elder brother, I am speaking to my family. I will take the liberty of offering some advice in front of you, even though she knows what it is, I will say it.”
“In any decision you make, let the people of Wayanad be your guide. I am confident she will do just that, reaching out to all of you, honoring the multitude whose sentiments have sent her to the Lok Sabha in the first place,” he said.
Rahul told the gathering that Priyanka was their official representative in Parliament and he was the unofficial one. “Only Wayanad has this privilege, no other constituency does,” he said amid applause.
