Visitors to the site encountered a banner reading “YOU ARE HACKED !!! TEAM INSANE PK” above a disturbing image linked to April 22’s terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, alongside a photograph of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Site administrators took the portal offline shortly afterward to begin restoration and damage assessment.
The Army College of Nursing—an autonomous institution under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and not directly part of the Indian Army — is located in Jalandhar Cantonment. An AWES spokesperson confirmed that the breach has been reported to cyber-crime authorities and that forensic teams are working to secure the website. No evidence has yet emerged that sensitive student or staff data was compromised.
Cyber-security analysts warn that such high-profile defacements are intended to spread terror messaging and undermine confidence in key public institutions.
