India on Thursday night swiftly thwarted Pakistan's fresh attempts to strike military sites with drones and missiles including in Jammu and Pathankot after foiling similar bids at 15 places in northern and western regions of the country, as tensions soared between the two countries amid fears of a wider conflict.The renewed attempts and intense shelling by the Pakistani forces on the Line of Control(LoC) and the International Border(IB) in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan came after India on Thursday morning targeted Pakistani air defence systems at multiple cities with one in Lahore being "neutralised".

Masood Azhar Confirms 14 Family, Aides Killed in Indian Strike on JeM HQ
Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar on Wednesday confirmed that 14 people, including 10 of his family members and four close associates, were killed in India's missile strike on the terror outfit’s headquarters at Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. Among the dead were Azhar’s elder sister and her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece, five children, and three close aides, including one associate’s mother. The strike was part of India's Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Schools, colleges shut in north Kashmir after India’s strike on terror bases
Authorities in Kashmir ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Gurez areas on Wednesday following Indian missile strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The Kashmir and Cluster Universities also postponed their exams for the day. Officials said the move is precautionary amid heightened tensions after 'Operation Sindoor', launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. Schools near Srinagar airport were also shut, with authorities urging the public to stay alert and follow advisories.
