Odisha Resolves Over 1.3 Lakh Grievances, Says CM Mohan Majhi
The Chief Minister said that in the last 15 phases alone, 12,748 out of 13,358 grievances about 95 per cent had been resolved

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday said the state government has resolved over 1.3 lakh public grievances so far, accounting for nearly 88 per cent of complaints received through official channels.
Addressing a grievance hearing focused on issues faced by Divyang (persons with disabilities), the Chief Minister said that 1,49,418 grievances had been received through the government’s web portal and postal services, of which 1,30,845 cases werecdisposed of.
The hearing was attended by several senior ministers, including Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Nayak and School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.
Majhi said a total of 14,057 grievances were registered during 16 phases of the grievance redressal programme, with more than 56,028 people participating, as multiple individuals often approach the administration for a single complaint. During the ongoing phase, grievances from all 30 districts were registered under the supervision of respective district collectors, he added.
Highlighting the pace of disposal, the Chief Minister said that in the last 15 phases alone, 12,748 out of 13,358 grievances about 95 per cent had been resolved.
The Chief Minister said the government plans to institutionalise the grievance redressal mechanism by holding hearings every Monday, around three to four times a month, and expanding the programme to more locations with the support of district collectors.
He also announced that special assistance would be extended to patients suffering from serious ailments, including cancer, with financial support for treatment to be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The grievance hearing initiative, Majhi said, is aimed at strengthening direct engagement between the administration and citizens, with a focus on inclusive and responsive governance.
