Nibe Tests Suryastra Rocket Systems at Chandipur

The company had received a purchase order in January 2026 under the emergency procurement of the Indian Army for supply of the Suryastra Universal Rocket Launcher and associated rockets

New Delhi: Private sector firm Nibe Limited has conducted successful firing trials of its Suryastra rocket systems with ranges of 150 km and 300 km at ITR Chandipur, marking a development in indigenous defence manufacturing.

The company had received a purchase order in January 2026 under the emergency procurement of the Indian Army for supply of the Suryastra Universal Rocket Launcher and associated rockets. “Nibe Limited is pleased to announce the successful test firing of Suryastra Universal Rocket Launcher system at ITR, Chandipur, Odisha on 18th and 19th May 2026,” the company said in a stock exchange filing.

According to the company, the rockets demonstrated precision across ranges, achieving a circular error probable (CEP) of 1.5 metres for the 150 km variant and 2 metres for the 300 km variant.

“The trials have validated Suryastra’s long-range precision strike capability and mark a significant milestone in indigenous rocket artillery development by Nibe Limited,” it said.
