NIA Started an Inquiry in the Beldanga Violence Case, Applied in the Court for Accused Custody
Beldanga violence on January 16 and 17 and team divided into two groups and their three members arrived at the Berhampore chief judicial magistrate court and applied for NIA custody for 36 accused under UAPA act .

Berhampore: National investigation agency ( NIA) took over the Beldanga violence case and started inquiry on Saturday. Earlier eight members strong NIA team headed by the DSP rank official ( including two forensic experts) arrived at the Beldanga police station on Saturday morning and took over the case diary of the Beldanga violence on January 16 and 17 and team divided into two groups and their three members arrived at the Berhampore chief judicial magistrate court and applied for NIA custody for 36 accused under UAPA act . It may be mentioned that at the direction of the High court division bench and union home ministry NIA team took over this case and lodged FIR at the NIA special court Kolkata on Friday under UAPA act.At the Additional chief judicial magistrate Berhampore court Mrs Supti Sarkar denied bail for 13 accused and remanded them for 14 days jail custody on Saturday and NIA simultaneously applied that case should be handed over and appealed all accused for their custody also but that case not heard today and under consideration ",said the public prolocutor of this case Nilabjo Dutta . Later another team visited both violence sites at Maheshpur and Barua more, Beldanga where irate mob blocked national high way 12 and Beldanga rail station where Lalgola Krishnanagar section train service disrupted and uprooted railway level crossing system and pelted stones on train and bus passengers and even beaten up and manhandled Five working journalists including one woman journalist also were injured in the name of protests over one unnatural death of one migrant worker named Alauddin Seikh at Jharkhand state,for two consecutive days!,But West Bengal state police remained inactive for long thirty hours despite earlier several provocative remarks posted in the social media and fueled violence. Later it was revealed at the Jharkhand police inquiry that migrant workers not killed but commited suicide.
