NDA Hails Modi's Leadership on Pahalgam Response, Targets Opposition
Modi stressed the NDA’s collective identity as a natural and organic alliance and asserted that its journey since its foundation in 1998 is dotted with successes and has many more achievements in store.

New Delhi: The NDA parliamentary party on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "exceptional leadership” for the government's firm response to the Pahalgam terror attack under Operation Sindoor.
At the meeting, the first being held this year, Modi, it was learnt, said the Opposition camp must be regretting its decision to seek a debate on the terror strike and India's military response.
Modi stressed the NDA’s collective identity as a natural and organic alliance and asserted that its journey since its foundation in 1998 is dotted with successes and has many more achievements in store.
He asked the NDA constituents to participate vigorously in various programmes irrespective of their own strength in various regions. The PM emphasised maintaining cohesion and coordination in the alliance.
"It is just the beginning," he said, adding that there was a long way to go, triggering some buzz among MPs about the implication of the statement.
Briefing the media after the meeting, parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Prime Minister spoke in the context of the NDA's long and successful journey and that it would notch up many more achievements.
Modi also appreciated the points made by the NDA MPs during the discussion on Operation Sindoor and recalled that he began his reply in the Lok Sabha with the assertion that he will present the "stand of Bharat."
Taking a swipe at Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Modi said the Congress leader makes childish and unsubstantiated comments about Indian territory and security, and the court has served him a lesson. Modi’s remarks came in the wake of the Supreme Court’s rap to Gandhi for his claim of China encroaching on Indian land under the current government.
Sources said the PM also spoke about upcoming events like Tiranga Yatra, which the BJP annually celebrates in the run-up to Independence Day and National Space Day, which falls on August 23. He told the MPs that they should participate in them enthusiastically as NDA members.
Modi also hailed August 5 as a historic day, as Article 370, which gave special rights to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, was abrogated on this day in 2019. The groundbreaking ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya was also held on this day in 2020.
The NDA government has followed the Constitution in its true spirit, Modi said.
The NDA resolution paid tribute to 26 civilians who lost their lives in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam by terrorists linked to Pakistan.
