Extending her greetings to the citizens on the occasion, she said that Indian scriptures regard the balance of body, mind and soul as the foundation of a successful life and yoga is the path to achieving this balance.
The word ‘yoga’ means union- connecting an individual with oneself, society with nature, and humanity with universal consciousness.
Yoga is a powerful medium that guides us towards inner peace, harmony, and collective wellbeing.

This initiative gave yoga a new identity and a wider acceptance as a powerful tool for global wellbeing. Today, millions of people across the world have made yoga an integral part of their daily lives.
Interest in yoga continues to grow internationally, reflecting the strength of India’s cultural heritage, she said.
