MP: Woman Delivers Quadruplets In Autorickshaw, , All 4 Newborns Die

Bhopal: A woman, in her seventh month of pregnancy, in a Madhya Pradesh village delivered quadruplets in an autorickshaw due to absence of an ambulance.
All the four newborns died, her family members said on Wednesday.
Twenty-eight-year-old Rajni Sigram, hailing from the Naiganwa village under Bichhiya block in Mandla district, got labour pains on Tuesday and started for the Ghutas primary health Centre in a private vehicle after the reported call for an ambulance had elicited no response, the family members told the local media.
The doctors in the primary health Centre had referred her to the community health Centre at Bichhiya.
The woman had delivered quadruplets while being carried to the Bichhiya community health Centre in an autorickshaw.
The doctors in the community health Centre said that all the four newborns were dead on arrival in the health facility.
The mother was under treatment and stable, the doctors said.
According to Rajni, the dead newborns included three boys and one girl.
The newborns were premature, underdeveloped and had low birth weight, local block medical officer Dr. Anup Kumar Bharti told the local media.
