The UP chief minister landed at the Datia airbase by a special aircraft from Lucknow at around ten am and straight proceeded to the ancient shrine: Reports

BHOPAL: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday visited the famous Shri Pitambara Peeth, dedicated to Goddess of power and knowledge Baglamukhi, in Datia in Madhya Pradesh and performed pujas and rituals.
One of the most revered Hindu religious sites, Pitambara Peeth, also features a historic Shivling inside the Vankhandeshwar Shiva Temple, believed to date back to the Mahabharat.
The UP chief minister landed at the Datia airbase by a special aircraft from Lucknow at around ten am and straight proceeded to the ancient shrine.
He performed pujas at the Baglamukhi temple and the Vankhandeshwar Shiva Temple for around 15 minutes before leaving for Jhansi in UP by road.
Tight security arrangements were made at the shrine with heavy deployment of security forces outside as well as inside the complex on the occasion.
Local administration and police were present at the temple to oversee security arrangements at the temple.
Devotees as well as many of the priests of the shrine were restrained from visiting the shrine during the presence of the UP CM at the temple for security reasons.
A few months back, UP deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya had also paid a visit to the shrine.
Devotees flock to Pitambara Peeth to perform puja and rituals, particularly to resolve long pending legal disputes or seek victory over enemies.
The shrine is a famous Shakti-Peeth of India.
The presiding deity of the shrine, Bagalamukhi, is particularly known for blessing the politicians with political power when they pay obeisance to the deity.
Many veteran leaders from across the political spectrum used to visit the shrine to perform pujas and rituals before the deity.
