Bhopal: All India Muslim Jamaat president Maulana Mufti Shahbuddin Rajvi Ballevi has issued a fatwa against Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha for participating in the rituals in Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
The Muslim religious leader described her participation in Hindu rituals as a grave sin (Gunah-e-Azeem) for a practicing Muslim and issued a fatwa against her to do ‘tauba’ (repent) and recite Kalma to atone for her sin.
His religious order comes a day after videos and photographs were circulated on social media showing the actress participating in the Bhasma Aarti ritual of Mahakaleshwar shrine, housing one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country.
