MP Congress Media Wing Chief’s Resignation Exposes Rift In Party
Chairman of the media department of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) of Madhya Pradesh Mukesh Nayak on Saturday tendered his resignation from his post ‘to pave way for a new face’ to take charge of the media wing of the state party.

Bhopal: Infighting in Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress has come to the fore following resignation of head of the media department of the state party from his post.
Chairman of the media department of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) of Madhya Pradesh Mukesh Nayak on Saturday tendered his resignation from his post ‘to pave way for a new face’ to take charge of the media wing of the state party.
His resignation comes in the wake of ongoing tussle between him and media department in-charge Abhay Tiwari over constitution of committee by the party for talent hunt in Madhya Pradesh to appoint media spokespersons.
On December nine, Congress affairs in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Sanjay Kamle constituted an 11-member committee to tape talents in the state for selection of media spokespersons.
Interestingly, the committee was headed by Mr. Tiwari but Mr. Nayak did not figure in it, leading to infighting in the party.
On December 23, a sulking Mr. Nayak reconstituted a 13-member committee for selection of media spokespersons for the party in the state.
The new committee constituted by Mr. Nayak has made Mr. Tiwari as its coordinator and party MLA Arif Masood as its assistant coordinator.
Peeved at the development, Mr. Tiwari declared the new committee null and void, arguing that it is not sanctioned by the PCC.
Interestingly, PCC president Jitu Patwari has endorsed the new committee constituted by Mr. Nayak while hailing it in a social media post.
He however deleted the post when the issue snowballed into a major controversy in the party.
Mr. Tiwari later posted a harsh statement targeting Mr. Nayak in the party’s WhatsApp group, saying that “When the party faces the prospect of ruination, such immature orders are issued”.
Mr. Nayak’s resignation comes in the wake of the development.
PCC chief Mr. Patwari however promptly refused to accept Mr. Nayak’s resignation and asked him to continue in the post.
