Bhopal: Three minor girls and a woman, all tribals, were gangraped by seven people in Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the Hatta area early on Friday morning, police said.
According to Balaghat district superintendent of police (SP) Nagendra Singh, the seven motorcycle-born accused chased the victims when they were returning home from a marriage function and then forcibly took them to the nearby forest and gangraped them.
They chased away the boy accompanying them.
One of the seven accused was a minor.
A case was registered in connection with the incident when some of the victims came forward to lodge complaints, police said.
While six accused were arrested, the minor accused has been sent to a correctional home after being produced in a local court, police said.
The six accused were identified as Lokesh Matre, Lalchand Khare, Ajendra Bahe, Ajju Bagdate, Rajendra Kawre and Maniram Bahel.
All the six accused were in the age group of 20-28.
