Moorkha: CM Siddaramaiah Reacts to BJP MP Hegde's Controversial Statement on Mosques and Temples

Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah voiced vehement objection to a recent statement made by Uttara Kannada MP Anantkumar Hegde.
Addressing a program in Belagavi on Wednesday, without naming Hegde, Siddaramaiah criticized Hegde's assertion that mosques built on temples in the past would be demolished, and temples would be constructed in their place, labeling Hegde as moorkha (fool).
Expressing his disdain, Siddaramaiah remarked, “A fool says those mosques which were built on temples in the past will be destroyed and a temple will be constructed in that place. He is a fool. Such fools are in our country, and there are people who clap for him.”
The Chief Minister urged the public to applaud figures like freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna, emphasizing the importance of supporting individuals who contribute positively to society rather than those who misguide. "We are all Indians. We should not hate each other but love in harmony,” he added.
Responding to a query about his son Yatindra's statement suggesting that a good performance in the Lok Sabha polls could lead to Siddaramaiah completing a five-year term as CM, Siddaramaiah asserted that the decision would be in the hands of the High Command.
“It is neither him nor me who will decide. The High Command will decide on that,” he said.
Before inaugurating the Sainik School, Siddaramaiah, in an interaction with reporters, disclosed that measures have been taken to allocate 65 percent of the school's seats to Kannadigas and the remaining 35 percent to others.
He highlighted the school's role in instilling patriotism in children alongside providing quality education, emphasizing that students from the institution have the opportunity to join the Armed Forces.
