Modi Directs Ministries, States to Resolve Infra Delays in Mission Mode

PM reviews Rs 30,000-crore infrastructure projects

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday directed ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in infrastructure projects in a mission-mode manner, stressing that delays lead to cost escalation and deprive people of timely benefits.

Chairing the 52nd meeting of PRAGATI at Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister reviewed four infrastructure projects in the road, power, industrial corridor and metro rail sectors across four states, with a total cost of about Rs 30,000 crore.

He called for close monitoring of projects at the highest level and emphasised the use of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for better planning and timely implementation.

The Prime Minister also stressed the need for regular updates of project data, including utilities, clearances and field-level information, on the portal to reflect the latest ground situation and enable timely decision-making.

He said accurate and real-time data would help identify bottlenecks in advance and improve coordination among agencies.

Reviewing the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, he emphasised the use of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, and suggested involving NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers in awareness and patient support activities.

The Prime Minister also reviewed grievances related to cyber crime and digital arrest, expressing concern over the misuse of digital platforms to defraud citizens.

He said such cases required coordinated and time-bound action, and stressed that citizens should not have to approach multiple agencies for redressal.

He called for clear accountability, faster response and improved coordination among law enforcement agencies, banks and digital platforms, along with stronger public awareness.

Emphasising the importance of timely action in cyber fraud cases, he said it was critical to prevent financial loss and maintain public confidence.

He directed stakeholders to strengthen mechanisms for prevention, reporting, investigation and grievance redressal, and urged states to enable e-Zero FIR systems for quicker response.
