Modi, Brazil’s Lula Vow to Boost Ties
See it as key for advancing Global South

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, underscoring the importance of close cooperation to advance the shared interests of the Global South.
During the conversation, the two leaders reviewed the progress of the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership and expressed confidence that bilateral ties would gain further momentum in the coming year.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the partnership was poised to scale new heights and emphasised that strong collaboration between the two countries was crucial for promoting the priorities of the Global South. He also said he looked forward to welcoming President Lula to India soon. The interaction reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen engagement across political, economic and multilateral platforms.
