Mob Kills Double Murder Accused in Odisha Village

According to police, the accused allegedly attacked and killed two persons with a sharp weapon, triggering panic and tension in the locality.
Soon after the incident, angry villagers allegedly overpowered the accused, identified as Mochka Alda, and assaulted him before police personnel arrived at the scene. Preliminary reports indicated that the youth was mentally unstable.
Police rescued Alda in a critical condition and shifted him to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police described the case as highly sensitive and said investigations were underway into both the double murder and the subsequent mob assault. Separate cases have been registered at Tiring police station in connection with the incidents.
“Both the cases are sensitive, and we have taken them seriously while intensifying the investigation. We immediately shifted the accused to hospital, but he died during treatment. A case related to the incident has been registered at Tiring police station. Necessary action will be taken after a proper investigation,” said Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Birendra Senapati.
