Minta Devi Slams Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi for Using Her Image
Bihar woman featured on Congress protest T-shirts over voter-list error demands respect for her identity and government support

Minta Devi, a resident of Siwan district in Bihar, has strongly objected to Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi wearing T-shirts featuring her image and age during protests over alleged voter-list discrepancies. The T-shirts portrayed her as a “124-year-old,” highlighting a glaring error in electoral records.
Speaking out, Devi asked, “Who is Priyanka Gandhi to print my face in a T-shirt…and oppose me? Who gave them the right?” She demanded that her personal details be corrected and called for government assistance in the form of an old-age pension, underscoring her own needs rather than public spectacle.
Congress MP Imran Masood defended the protest, stating that the name and photo were taken directly from Election Commission records, and the intent was to highlight systemic issues, not to disrespect Devi.
The Election Commission has acknowledged the error and said corrective measures are underway. Minta Devi’s demand for an old-age pension has renewed attention on the welfare of senior citizens affected by administrative oversights.
