Maoist, Involved in 2009 Madanwada Massacre of 29 Cops, Among 4 Ultras Surrender

Raipur: Four Maoists carrying a cumulative bounty of Rs 23 lakh on Wednesday surrendered in Kanker under north Bastar in Chhattisgarh, police said.

One of them, Manjula alias Laxmi Potai (37), was allegedly involved in 16 Maoist-related incidents between 2006-2025, including the 2009 Madanwada Naxal ambush in which Rajnandgaon district superintendent of police Vinod Choubey and 28 other policemen were killed.

Other three surrendered Maoists were Kajal alias Rajita Vedada (19), a member of the Company No. 10 of the Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) Division of Maoists, Vilas alias Chaitu Usendi (42) and Ramsai alias Lakhan Marrapi (42).
