A video of a man lighting incense sticks and an oil lamp inside an AC train coach while praying has gone viral on social media.
In the video, posted by Jharkhand Rail Users (@JharkhandRail) on X, the man can be seen performing a puja on the upper berth of the AC train coach.
A passenger can be heard warning him about the dangers of lighting an open flame inside the train. The person recording the video can also be heard asking the man to extinguish the flame, pointing out that the smoke from the incense sticks could trigger the coach's smoke detectors.
Notably, AC train coaches are equipped with automated smoke detectors, and if activated, they can trigger the train's emergency braking system.
Railway Seva responded to the viral video by requesting the date and time of the incident, the train number, and the PNR number to investigate the matter.
The video sparked a debate across social media. Many users questioned how such an act was allowed inside an AC train coach, while others argued that religious practices should never compromise public safety. Several users urged authorities to identify and initiate strict action against the man.
