Man Held For Performing 'Tantrik' Rituals With CG High Court Chief Justice's Photo

According to the police, the incident took place in the cremation ground in Devri village under Sipat police station on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The local villagers raided the cremation ground after noticing four people indulging in suspicious activities in the middle of night and caught hold of one of them, while three others managed to escape, police said.

The accused, identified as Rishikesh Kumar, was later handed over to the police by the villagers.

According to Bilaspur district superintendent of police Rajneesh Singh, during interrogation, the accused said that the ‘tantrik’ rituals were being performed to get bail for his relative, Priyanshu Bole, arrested along with a few others in a case of stabbing.

While three other accused in the stabbing case were granted bail, Priyanshu was yet to secure bail, the police officer said.

The accused told the police that the idea of securing bail for his relative by performing tantrism at the cremation ground struck them after watching a video in which a black magician was heard narrating details of rituals.

Following this, four people visited the crematorium in the village in the dead of night that day and started performing ‘tantrik’ rituals by keeping the photographs of the Chief Justice, Priyanshu and the victim of the stabbing.

Police recovered tantrik materials like fish, lemon, vermillion, flowers, and photographs of Chief Justice and two others.
