Maharashtra: Nabin Hails Maharashtra’s Role In National Development

MUMBAI: BJP national president Nitin Nabin, on his first visit to Maharashtra after taking charge of the party, said the State was playing a significant role in the country’s development and described Maharashtra as the “holy land” of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Mr. Nabin was in Maharashtra on a one-day visit during Ganeshotsav. He said India was witnessing a phase of “cultural revival” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the country was moving in the right direction.
The BJP president was accorded a grand welcome at Mumbai Airport by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan, Mumbai BJP president Amit Satam, Mumbai BJP Yuva Morcha chief Deepak Singh, party office-bearers and workers.
Addressing BJP office-bearers and workers at the airport, Mr. Nabin described Mr. Fadnavis as a representative of the younger generation and said the Chief Minister represented the aspirations of youth, farmers, workers, women and the business community in the country’s financial capital.
Referring to Maharashtra’s cultural and historical significance, Mr. Nabin said the slogan “Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji” reflected India’s rich culture and traditions. He also said Maharashtra was playing a crucial role in the country’s development.
“India has witnessed a phase of cultural revival under Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the last 12 years. The country is moving in the right direction,” he said.
Mr. Nabin said the visit, undertaken during Ganeshotsav, was his first to Maharashtra since becoming BJP national president. He added that he would return to the State for organisational meetings.
Later, Mr. Nabin proceeded to Prabhadevi, where he visited the Siddhivinayak Temple and offered prayers and performed the customary rituals. Pawan Tripathi, treasurer of the Siddhivinayak Trust, welcomed Mr. Nabin and other dignitaries.
He subsequently visited Lalbaugcha Raja and sought blessings.
In the afternoon, Mr. Nabin visited Mr. Fadnavis’s official residence, Varsha, at Malabar Hill, where he sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha. He also visited the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to offer prayers.
Mr. Nabin later met Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar at her residence and paid tribute to the late Ajit Pawar. In Pune, Mr. Nabin had darshan of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati and performed the aarti.
