Maharashtra: Disha Salian Case: Aaditya Thackeray Denies Link
“Let’s cut through the noise and talk facts, once again: I have never met or known Disha Salian”: Aaditya in a post on 'X'

MUMBAI: Two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) named him in its FIR in the 2020 Disha Salian death case, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya broke his silence saying he never met the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-manager and did not know her. He alleged that his name being dragged into the case is a deliberate attempt of ‘character assassination’ driven by political motives.
“Let’s cut through the noise and talk facts, once again: I have never met or known Disha Salian,” Aaditya said in a post on X on Wednesday.
“Linking my name to this tragic case constantly is a deliberate, evidence-free attempt at character assassination by a few individuals with clear political and personal motives, for almost 6 years,” the MLA from Worli said further without naming anyone.
His clarification came two days after Disha’s father Satish Salian told the CBI that Aaditya, along with actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty, was allegedly involved in a conspiracy to rape and murder his daughter. The CBI is investigating the allegations following directions from the Bombay High Court.
“Let the official re-investigation proceed without malicious distractions and character assassination for political motives,” Aaditya added.
He stated that he will always stand by the truth and fight for it. “Once again, for those few, thinking that such malicious attempts being used politically, will hold us back from fighting for the truth, and for fellow citizens, is a failed strategy. We always will, stand by the truth, and fight for it,” Aaditya said.
Disha, who worked as actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager, was found dead on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai. Sushant himself was found dead at his Bandra flat a week later.
The police registered an accidental death report in connection with the Disha Salian death case and concluded that it was a suicide and ruled out foul play. A Special Investigation Team set up by the Eknath Shinde-led government in December 2023 also found no foul play in Disha’s death.
However, Satish Salian filed a petition in the High Court last year alleging that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered. Following HC directions, the CBI recently registered an FIR, which names Aaditya, his father and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, actors Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty among those whose roles require investigation. It also refers to several police officers, forensic personnel, doctors and others.
