Madhya Pradesh: In Davos, Mohan Highlights MP’s Focus on Green Energy, MoU Signed with Global Logistic Giant, DP World

He highlighted the progress of the new renewable energy projects in solar energy and energy storage facilities in the state.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav has said that renewable energy forms the cornerstone of the state’s inclusive and sustainable development.

Participating in a roundtable meeting on the theme, ‘Derisking the Green Leap: Subnational Blueprint for Utility-scale Energy Transition’, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos, Mr. Yadav said that the renewable energy is key to the state’s energy journey and forms the cornerstone of Madhya Pradesh’s inclusive and sustainable development.

He highlighted the progress of the new renewable energy projects in solar energy and energy storage facilities in the state.

“Madhya Pradesh has brought green energy into the mainstream of its development strategy”, he said.

Mr. Yadav held a one-to-one meeting with Mohamed Saeed, minister for economic development and trade of Maldive on the sidelines of the global event.

The meeting focused on advancing cooperation across multiple sectors, with tourism as a common foundation and expanding collaboration in areas such as healthcare, education, wildlife conservation and cultural exchange, official sources said here on Thursday.

He also held discussions with Celista Redmond, vice-president of Global AI Institute at NVIDIA on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos to explore opportunities for the AI giant in Madhya Pradesh.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Madhya Pradesh and DP World, a leading global logistics and supply chain company based in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), in the presence of Mr. Yadav and DP World Group chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, at Davos.

Through this MoU, agreement was reached on issues related to industrial development and investment cooperation, which has the potential to give a new direction to logistics, infrastructure and business activities in the state, officials said.
