L&T Semiconductor, Tata Electronics Forge Strategic Pact To Boost Indigenous Chip Production

New Delhi: L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT) and Tata Electronics on Friday announced a strategic partnership to expand indigenous production of semiconductor chips for global markets. The joint venture aims to build domestic design and manufacturing capabilities to cater to next-generation product requirements across automotive, industrial, communications, security, and intelligent-edge sectors, according to a joint statement.
The collaboration will combine fabless chip design innovation of LTSCT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, with Tata Electronics' semiconductor packaging and foundry capabilities. Under the agreement, both entities will explore chip fabrication and packaging opportunities across Tata Electronics' range of fab process technologies and packaging solutions for LTSCT's current and future product portfolio. The partnership will also focus on design-to-fabrication optimisations to facilitate efficient manufacturing at scale.
