A student's family filed a complaint at Chiluatal police station, fearing for their son's safety. Police registered a kidnapping case and apprehended the pair at Lucknow railway station.
A 22-year-old teacher from Chiluatal, Gorakhpur, fell in love with her 14-year-old 9th-grade student. They connected at school, began a romantic relationship, and recently eloped. The student's family reported their concerns, prompting a police search. The couple was caught at Lucknow railway station.
The teacher, also pursuing an MSc, admitted to a year-long relationship and her desire to stay with the student. When brought back to Gorakhpur, both criticised the police and family. The teacher's family urged legal action, while the student's father requested none. After counselling, the teacher's family took her home. Two days later, she apologised to the police.
The couple had fled to Lucknow by train, aiming for Delhi. GRP grew suspicious due to their behaviour and age difference, detaining them after verifying their identities with Gorakhpur police.
