NIA Has Approached Kolkata HC Against WB Police FIRs In Bhupatinagar Incident In Which NIA Team Was Attacked By Locals In Connection With 2022 Blast Case Arrests

The National Investigation Agency has approached Kolkata High Court against the FIRs filed by WB police against its officials who were attacked on Saturday in Bhupatinagar in East Midnapore district when they had gone to arrest two people for their alleged involvement in a 2022 bomb blast case which had claimed three lives.
Family of one of the arrested persons - local TMC worker had accused the NIA of molestation and forcible entry late in the night. Based on the complaint WB police filed FIRs against NIA officials.
According to NIA officials Kolkata High Court has allowed the agency to file a petition challenging the multiple FIRs and the charges put forward in the matter by the WB police.
