Kolkata: ED Grills Abhishek For 11 Hours In Teachers' Job Scam; Charges Framed Against TMC Don Shahjahan In Land Grab Case
The three other accused are Alamgir Molla, Shivaprasad Hazra and Didar Bux Molla: Reports

KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Trinamul Congress scion Abhishek Banerjee for nearly 11 hours on Monday in the primary school teachers' recruitment scam in West Bengal. He visited the ED office at CGO Complex in Salt Lake at around 11 am after getting summons.
The ED grilled the Diamond Harbour MP in various rounds about Leaps and Bounds, a private company which has alleged links with him and has come under scanner for being a beneficiary in the scam. The TMC leader's statement was recorded and sent to the ED headquarters in New Delhi later, according to sources.
Banerjee was allowed to go at around 10 pm. “I have been called 10-12 times. I always cooperated and will do so, if called again, with the probe. I have replied to all the questions,” he told the media. The TMC national general secretary however accused the BJP of trying to break his party anyhow.
His questioning came a day after the criminal investigation department of the West Bengal Police quizzed him in TMC MLAs' fake signatures case. Meanwhile, charges have been framed against suspended TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and three others in a land grab case before a judge of Prevention of Money Laundering Act at Bankshal Court in Kolkata.
The case, which is being investigated by the ED, is about forcibly taking control of land at Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas. The ED has told the court that Shahjahan made a property of ₹5 crore in the land grab. The three other accused are Alamgir Molla, Shivaprasad Hazra and Didar Bux Molla. They are aides of Shahjahan. The trial in the case will start on July 7. There are around 30 witnesses in the case.
