Key Tirupati District Infrastructure Projects Facing Delays

Nellore: Several key infrastructure projects in Tirupati district, including national highways and railway lines, are getting delayed either due to land acquisition issues or sluggish construction process.
Among the road projects affected are six-lane highway expansions, Tirupati bypass and Renigunta-Chennai Road. The progress of railway stretches like Renigunta, Pudi, Gudur, Pakala, and Tirupati Town remains slow, while the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway has been flagged as a project requiring faster execution.
Land-related challenges have hindered the progress of Packages 2, 3 and 4 under Sagarmala initiative, as well as the ADB-funded road works and APIIC Package 5.
Efforts are underway to resolve land acquisition bottlenecks for the Tirupati-Renigunta bypass, a project deemed vital to easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in the region.
The projects came up for discussion at a virtual review meeting on Tuesday presided over by district collector Dr. S. Venkateswar alongside joint collector Shubham Bansal. Others present include National Highways officials from Tirupati, Nellore and Chennai, Gudur sub-collector Raghavendra Meena, RDOs of Sullurpet and Srikalahasti, officials of APIIC, including zonal manager Vijay Bharat Reddy and tahsildars of mandals concerned.
The district collector stressed on the importance of timely land acquisition, quality construction and inter-departmental coordination to ensure that these critical infrastructure projects are completed without further delay.
