JSW Steel’s Narayanposhi Mines honoured with prestigious 5-Star Award

The recognition highlights the mine’s outstanding achievements in sustainable development, environmental management, and corporate social responsibility.

Barbil: JSW Steel’s Narayanposhi iron and manganese mines in Odisha have been conferred the distinguished 5-Star Award by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), an arm of the Union ministry of mines.

The recognition highlights the mine’s outstanding achievements in sustainable development, environmental management, and corporate social responsibility.

The award was presented at the IBM Felicitation Ceremony for 5-Star and 7-Star Rated Mines, held at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur.
Gajraj Singh Rathore, Additional Director and Whole-time Director, designated as Chief Operating Officer, JSW Steel Ltd., received the award on behalf of the company from Union minister for coal and mines, G Kishan Reddy, in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma.
Also representing JSW Steel at the event were Mr Sauvick Mazumder, Chief Operating Officer, JSW Steel – Odisha; Shri Ram Shankar Sharma, Head of Mines Operations and Projects; Tapan Rath, Mine Manager; and Ankita Singh, Mines Planning.
This coveted recognition reaffirms JSW Steel’s steadfast commitment to responsible mining practices. Through leadership in environmental conservation, proactive community outreach, and alignment with national sustainable development priorities, the Narayanposhi mine continues to set industry benchmarks in ethical, efficient, and forward-thinking resource management within India’s mining sector.
