In a tragic road accident a speeding trailer mowed down five members of a family standing on the roadside on the 200-feet Bypass in Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur on Tuesday morning, leaving three children dead and their parents critically injured.
Jaipur: In a tragic road accident on Tuesday morning, a speeding trailer mowed down five members of a family standing on the roadside on the 200-feet Bypass in the Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur in Rajasthan, leaving three children dead and their parents critically injured.
According to Deputy SP (Traffic) Amir Hasan, the trailer carrying POP bags was heading towards Ajmer from Delhi when it broke the divider railing and veered onto the roadside before crashing into the family. The impact was so severe that three children died on the spot, and the parents suffered fractures in their legs.
Shyam Nagar police, ambulance, and rescue teams reached the spot soon after the incident. With help from locals, the trapped victims were pulled out. The injured parents, who were said to be balloon sellers, were sent to the hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken for post-mortem examination.
Traffic on the Bypass road was disrupted for a while after the crash. Police removed the damaged vehicles to restore normal vehicular movement.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Identification of the deceased and injured is also in progress. Officials said a detailed inquiry will reveal the exact cause and sequence of events.
