International Space Station to Be Visible Across India This Week

Skywatchers can spot the ISS with the naked eye from July 7–12 during twilight hours

Stargazers in India are in for a treat this week as the International Space Station (ISS) will be visible across the country on several occasions from July 7 to July 12. The ISS, a marvel of global collaboration in space, will appear as a bright, fast-moving star streaking across the sky during early mornings and twilight hours.

Thanks to apps like NASA’s Spot the Station and ISS Detector, watching the ISS has never been easier. These free tools provide real-time alerts, visibility windows, and directional cues, helping users know exactly where and when to look.

When to Spot the ISS Over India:

  • July 7: 8:48 pm – 8:55 pm

  • July 8: 4:59 am – 5:05 am | 7:59 pm – 8:06 pm | 9:38 pm – 9:41 pm

  • July 9: 4:10 am – 4:16 am | 8:48 pm – 8:53 pm

  • July 10: 3:22 am – 3:27 am | 4:58 am – 5:04 am | 7:59 pm – 8:05 pm

  • July 11: 2:34 am – 2:36 am | 4:09 am – 4:15 am

  • July 12: 7:59 pm – 8:03 pm

The ISS is best viewed during twilight hours — shortly after sunset or before sunrise — when sunlight reflects off its massive solar arrays, making it visible from Earth as a steady, non-blinking light gliding across the sky.

To witness this celestial event, no special equipment is needed — just a clear sky and the right timing.
