India Condemns Attacks On Saudi Airports

India condemned recent attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia, expressing solidarity with the kingdom and calling the targeting of civilian infrastructure unacceptable.

India on Thursday condemned attacks over the past few days on Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, expressing solidarity with the kingdom.

New Delhi said the attacks had resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, adding that “the targeting of civilian infrastructure is completely unacceptable”.

“We express our deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones. We wish speedy recovery for those injured. We express solidarity and stand with the people and government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” it said.

According to reports, three people were killed and 36 injured in the attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who have been fighting Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces.

Meanwhile, Air India has cancelled its flights to Riyadh till October 10, according to news agency reports.

An Air India flight from Delhi to Riyadh returned to Delhi on Thursday after turning back in Indian airspace over Gujarat, the reports said.
