Under Construction Site Structure Collapses in Mumbai's Bhandup

Mumbai : A portion of the road caved in on LBS Road near Sonapur in Mumbai's Bhandup following heavy rainfall. This incident has raised concerns over commuter safety and traffic movement which is already hampered due to heavy rain. Local commuters blamed on the ongoing excavation work nearby apart from the regular water-logging situation due to downpour. Authorities have cordoned off the affected stretch and initiated necessary measures to secure the affected road.
IMD predicts heavy rains for Mumbai
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert for Mumbai on Saturday, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across the city and suburbs, with the possibility of extremely heavy showers and gusty winds reaching 60 kmph in isolated areas.
