Mega Awareness Meet on Food Safety Held at Begum Bazar

During the meeting, members of the association highlighted the issues faced by shopkeepers and reiterated their commitment to working closely with Telangana Police in ensuring public safety.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Kirana Merchants’ Association organized a mega public awareness and coordination meeting in association with Telangana Police, H-FAST, and FSSAI officials at Begum Bazar on Monday. The initiative aimed to promote food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance among traders and shop owners.
During the meeting, members of the association highlighted the issues faced by shopkeepers and reiterated their commitment to working closely with Telangana Police in ensuring public safety. Officials from H-FAST and FSSAI conducted awareness sessions, educating traders on food safety standards, hygiene practices, and compliance requirements as per FSSAI norms.
Task Force DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad addressed the gathering and clarified the doubts raised by shop owners regarding enforcement procedures and compliance guidelines. Senior police officials, Other officials present included H-FAST Inspector Renjith, ACP Goshamahal Sudarshan, SHO Goshamahal B. Sharavan Kumar, SHO Afzalgunj Mohan Rao, and SHO Begum Bazar Bharat. From FSSAI, National Director Balu Naik attended the meeting and emphasized the importance of maintaining food safety standards.
The association was represented by its office bearers, including Honorary Secretary Avinash Devda, President Damodardas Vijaywargiya, Vice Presidents Mahesh Gupta and Ramesh Bhati, Joint Secretary Arvind Patel, Treasurer Kamal Jain, and several other members and senior businessmen.
A large number of traders and community members participated in the program, making it a successful awareness initiative aimed at strengthening coordination between authorities and the business community.
