Future City Police Conduct Public Awareness Programme at Ganesh Pandal in Shadnagar

Shadnagar: As part of the public awareness initiatives of the Future City Police Commissionerate, Smt. Ch. Sirisha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shadnagar Zone, visited a Ganesh pandal within the limits of Shadnagar Police Station and interacted with organisers, devotees, women and young students.

During the programme, the DCP created awareness on women’s safety, cybercrime prevention, drug abuse and road safety, while advising the public to remain alert and adopt responsible practices.

She explained the role of SHE Teams and the support available to women facing online harassment, cyber abuse, stalking and misuse of social media.

The participants were also sensitised about cyber offences such as OTP fraud, cyberbullying, photo morphing, cyberstalking, online gaming frauds and financial frauds. The DCP stressed the importance of immediately reporting financial cyber fraud during the crucial Golden Hour and urged citizens to contact the Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930 without delay.

Interacting with young students, she highlighted the harmful impact of drug abuse on physical and mental health, education, family life and future prospects, and encouraged them to stay away from narcotic substances.

The DCP also urged motorists to wear helmets, avoid mobile-phone use while driving, never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and strictly follow traffic rules.

Shadnagar Police Station SHO Sri K. Seetharam participated in the programme and coordinated the awareness activity along with police personnel.

The programme was aimed at strengthening public understanding of crime prevention, responsible behaviour and the various assistance mechanisms available through the police.
