Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer praised D.Sivamma for her exceptional leather puppet art depicting episodes from Ramayana, Mahabharata and Sri Krishna Leela
Vijayawada : Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has congratulated D. Sivamma, who hails from Sri Sathya Sai district, for winning the prestigious ‘Shilp Guru’ Award-2023.
In a statement from Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, he said Sivamma received the honour for her exceptional leather puppet art depicting episodes from Ramayana, Mahabharata and Sri Krishna Leela, presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony in New Delhi on December 9.
The Governor also congratulated the winners of the National Award for 2023 and 2024 — Gorsa Santosh from Anakapalli district for his craftsmanship in Etikoppaka toys, and P. Vijayalakshmi from Nellore district for her Kalamkari painting work.
