YSRC Considers Change of Candidates in Kadapa
Anantapur: While the YSRC high command has not announced any change of candidates in Kadapa, except for the Badvel segment, party sources said massive changes are likely in several of these segments.
The party is keen on winning all the assembly seats and two MP seats during 2024 polls from the district, the home turf of chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Sources said the party high command called sitting MLA Sudha from Badvel but did not reveal about the candidates in other segments including the two Lok Sabha segments. Speculations over a change of candidates in several assembly segments are rife as the sitting MLAs faced dissidence. Proddatur, Kamalapuram and Jammalamadugu might see the arrival of new YSRC candidates.
In Proddatur, Rachamallu Shivaprasad Reddy and Jammalamadugu Sudhir Reddy are likely to be changed. Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, who is also incharge of the Pulivendula assembly segment is likely to be fielded for the assembly seat from Jammalamadugu, to help him concentrate more on the party from within the state.
Abhisek Reddy, another close aide of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is in the race for the Kadapa MP seat. Ahishek Reddy, a doctor from Vizag, had tried to get the ticket during the last elections, but he could not. Jagan Reddy gave indications of changing candidates of several segments in Kadapa during his three-day - visit.
Meanwhile, Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy, leading the party in the region along with his father Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, will be given the chance a second time to fight for the LS seat.
In addition, another relative Dushyanth Reddy, also an industrialist, is seriously trying for the Kamalapuram MLA seat.
