Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police will close NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Tank Bund along with Mint Compound lane adjacent to Secretariat from 10 pm of December 31 to 2 am of January 1 in view of the New Year festivities. All flyovers will be closed to traffic.
The traffic police will undertake extensive checks to curb drunk driving, rash driving, speeding and triple riding on two-wheelers and other traffic violations.
The following traffic diversions have been imposed at Hussainsagar:
Traffic from VV statue towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road.
Traffic from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul, Ayodhya.
Traffic from Liberty Jn. towards Secunderabad will be diverted at MCH Office Y-Junction towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya.
Traffic from Khairatabad Market towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad towards Meera Talkies lane.
Traffic coming from Nalla-gutta railway bridge side will not be allowed towards Sanjee-vaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Minister Road.
Traffic coming from Secun-derabad will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X-roads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma temple, Ashoknagar, RTC X-roads. Buses, lorries and heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the city limits, till 2 on January 1.
