Udupi: A person lost his life due to a lightning strike in Udupi district on Sunday evening.
Pramod Shetty, 27, a resident of Avarse, was employed at a garment shop in Brahmavar. On Sunday afternoon, he returned home.
In the evening, while sitting on the sitout of his house engrossed in a phone call, Pramod's cries caught the attention of his brother, Prashanth.
Startled by his brother Pramod's cries, Prashanth rushed to the scene and discovered his brother struck by lightning. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to a hospital in Brahmavar, it was too late, as Pramod had already succumbed to his injuries.
A case is registered at the Kota Police Station.
