New aspirants object to continuance of JJB members
Kurnool: Continuance of existing chairpersons and AP government had kept extending their term so far on a monthly basis (JJB) is being faulted by aspirants waiting in wings to serve on these boards in all 13 district headquarters of the state.
The existing JJBs had been appointed by the erstwhile government vide G.O Ms. No. 4 & 5 on January 29, 2018. The tenure of earlier members had expired on October 28, 2021. But the AP government had kept extending their term so far on a monthly basis. The government is planning to further extend their tenure by one more month.
An aspirant from Kurnool district, who did not want to be identified, lamented that due to indecisiveness of the state government, several aspirants who wanted to serve children and juveniles by being appointed to the child welfare committees and juvenile justice boards are being deprived of any opportunity for almost 10 months now.
