Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time in the history of universities in Kerala, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) has introduced the system for providing answer scripts to the students. After the results are published, the university will give a provision to students to apply online for getting the copy of their answer scripts. The student has to apply online with the login key provided to him. When the application reaches to the controller of examinations, he will forward this to the valuation camp officers where the answer papers are kept.
The camp officer will scan the answer scripts entirely and upload on to the portal which will reach to the student's institute login. Simultaneously a mail will be sent to the candidate and the principal of the institute indicating the same. Till now, the universities in Kerala are providing a scrutiny facility in which the student has to go to the concerned university, and the authorities will show the scripts to the student. They can view the paper only but cannot get copies. "KTU has provided the facility to get the copies of their answer scripts sitting at their locations. There is no need to come to the headquarters at all," Dr M. Abdul Rahman, the pro-vice-chancellor of KTU, told Deccan Chronicle.
"Initially, KTU will charge a fee for this facility as the papers are physically kept at different centres across the state and human resources are required to facilitate the copying process. Once the valuation system is automated, it will be available to the students free of cost." The KTU has issued a notification for getting the copy of answer scripts of the first and second semester B.Tech special exams conducted during August/September 2016. Candidates have to register for the same in the KTU portal from October 31 to November 4.
